Training weekend for new Companions

Posted by Chris Turner on April 3, 2013 at 5:35 PM Comments comments (1)

Another intensive training weekend is coming up soon for people wanting to be Companions/Facilitators for the SEASONS Programme.   We will update you on the dates.

The National trainer for the SEASONS Programme, Carol Goldie Anderson, will lead the training for a group of no more than 10 adults.

After participating in this training session, your training will be complete once you have worked at least two terms with an experienced Companion.

Companions/Facilitators are especially needed in the Roskill/Sandringham/Inner City area.  Can you help?

If you have worked through your own grief and feel ready to help children work through theirs, please contact us.  See the CONTACTS section on the website for contact details.

Please also take a look at our Companions page for more information on what Companions do or get in touch with us if you have any questions at all.

A very big thank you

Towards the end of last year Gavin Gosney, a Howick based children's author, offered a percentage from the sale of two of his books for Grief and Loss Support Services.

We had to sell the books.  Several people helped me sell "Sammy Two Shoes and the Bumble Bee" and "Sammy Two Shoes and Billy the Bellbird".  Children and adults loved them.

I was presented with a cheque recently for just over one thousand dollars.  Well done to the sellers and a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Gavin for his generous offer.
